Happy! Excited! The People Have Spoken

Monday, January 19th, 2009

Hooray! Tomorrow will mark the Inauguration of Barak Obama,
the Nations’s 44th President. How very exciting! How very encouraging! How very, very promising.

A New Beginning

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

It is time for a change. This January will signify the third time (in three years) that I have been put in the position of looking for new employment. It is the third time that a job has ended, because it ended (no being fired, or let go), just ended. I think the Universe is trying to tell me something. Maybe trusting and doing that which my God given talents are here for (more teaching, counseling, writing). I think it is time to begin listening and doing, instead of waiting, and staying in a job, just because I am afraid to move on. This is the first time in about five years that I have been looking forward to the next year. So that’s a good sign, and can be a new beginning.

Trying To Forget About What’s Past

Monday, January 12th, 2009

I have been trying to be less of a worrier. Does no good to worry about what hasn’t happened yet. There’s a saying ‘The past is dead, the future doesn’t exist, right now is a gift–that’s why they call it ‘the present’. Anyway, the point of all this is that worrying about what you have or haven’t done, or shouldn’t have done, does no good. Just focusing on right now, or ‘inner space’, as Eckert Tolle calls it, keep you focused, and makes things just a little simpler.

The Next Step

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Eckert Tolle (‘A New Earth’), mentions three ways which consciousness can flow into whatever you do. He calls them ‘awakened manifestation’. The 3 ways are: acceptance, enjoyment and enthusiasm. ‘Acceptance’ relates to being at peace with what you are doing at that moment. ‘Enjoyment’ is making the present moment the focal point of your life. ‘Enthusiasm’ means having a deep enjoyment in what you are doing with the added element of a goal, just for the pure pleasure of it.This year, I plan to remain one of these states at all times. I will then be more present and better tuned into whatever the next step in my life needs to be.

Happy New Years – Accomplishments & Goals

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

This year, I will continue with my yearly tradition of writing three things I have accomplished last year and listing three things I hope to accomplish next year

Last Year (2008) I: (1) started a new job.
(2) Ate more healthfully. (3) Joined a choir.
Next Year (2009) I intend to:
(1) Organize and facilitate an I Ching Meetup Group.
(2) Increase my Spiritual Connection.
(3) Trust my Intuition more
