According to Oprah, it is good to  write down three things daily that you are grateful for. Every time I do this, my life (and outlook) gets better. At the end of six months look back and see how your life has changed. Three things I am grateful for:

1. My Spirituality

2. Nature

3. You – who reads my journal

Right after I sat down for my reading with Fredda she told me that my daughter was going to be all right. I hadn’t even asked a question yet. My daughter did have surgery and she is fine now. I also took a meditation class from Fredda. She is a wonderful facilitator. I had an amazing experience today. A tiny spot on eye caused me to make an appointment with the doctor. A torn retina was found. Just a tiny tear, but it needed attention. The thing that makes this story so special, is that until today, the clinic that I went to was without a specialist. However a new doctor had started there earlier that day. I was able to go across the hall and get my eye taken care of in about an hour. I am now sitting at my computer typing this. If I ever had a question that so taken care of, this reaffirmed that I am. And I am SO grateful!!

I think it is time to make some changes. I am unhappy with my behavior lately. I feel I have been too self-serving. Too selfish. Not concerned enough about others. This result is unsatisfactory to me. It is a wake up call to start doing things differently. To suddenly find you aren’t the ‘good, spiritual person’, you thought you were, can kind of suck. However, since I am beginning to study more about gratitude and how thoughts and emotions affect our situation, I am using this experience as a ‘wake- up call’ and the need to change.

I am absolutely delighted about the outcome of Tuesday’s elections! The changes this new administration promises to deliver are inspiring and uplifting. Several musicians and groups are already in the process of creating albums to reflect this. People are long ready for a change. This election truly was one for the people. Barack Obama said ‘The White House doesn’t bring change to the people’. We (the people) bring change to the White House’. I am really paraphrasing this, but you get the idea. This is an election for the people. We are finally being listened to.  We are finally being heard. We can truly make a difference.
