Just Another Day in Paradise
Someone called me an ‘Elder’ today. This was during a conversation we were having on aging. ‘How old are you now?’, he asked. when I told him, he responded, ‘you are an elder, and you should celebrate it’. Immediately my stomach began hurting. Although some people would give me credit for my accomplishments, I really feel like I haven’t achieved what I want. This attitude is completely negative and self defeating. I guess the most productive thing for me to do is accept where I am and celebrate, rather than lament. Well, it will be interesting to see what the next year brings. It has gone so very fast. I am finding myself going through a major mind shift. Every negative thought and worry is being substituted with surrender. It is working. I am becoming more positive and motivated. It is challenging, however, doing this is so worth it.
