Everyday we receive messages and insights Sometimes we listen, other times we don’t. The main thing is to remain focused while remaining open to impulses and changes as they occur. Sometimes a change in plans is just a detour. Other times it is an entirely new redirection or route. Meditation is a wonderful way to hear one’s Inner Voice. It enables one to be connected and open to their Higher Consciousness. It makes it that much easier to remain centered and directed.

with yourself. Have you ever noticed how hard some of us tend to be on ourselves? It is almost like the old saying ‘with friends like this..’. When we remember that we are growing and learning, mistakes can be learning experiences. The more gentle we are with ourselves, the easier it is to accept our challenges and learn from our experiences. This allows mistakes to be seen as part of the learning and growing process.

According to author Lynn Grabhorn (author of ‘Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting’), it only takes 16 seconds to vibrationally link up to whatever we’re focusing on. In that brief time, we are ripe for attracting whatever we’re concentrating on. That is why it is so important to focus on the positive things we’d like to attain. In other words, like attracts like.

that you can give yourself is to listen to your intuition. Meditation is one of the most effective ways to do this. When one meditates they learn to keep still and listen. The techniques to meditate are almost limitless. No one way is best. Whatever seems to work for you is fine. The main thing is to remain still and direct your energy to a higher positive Power (whatever that Power may be). You will be able to tell when you are on the right track by how you feel. Listening to ones intuition provides guidance and insight. It allows you to connect with your Highest and Better Self. When you allow yourself to do this, things become that much clearer for you.

It sometimes seems like someone sent me out on a road trip without a map. I have a destination in mind; I have no idea how to get there. I’ve been known to compare being close-minded to using an expired map to go somewhere. I’m so focused on using the map I have, I don’t realize a newer more efficient one exists. As a result I might be making my journey more difficult than it needs to be. How much easier to just let myself be open to the signs and let the route reveal itself.

It is sometimes tempting to stay with what is comfortable. Change can, after all, be unfamiliar. Without it, however, how can there be room for the new to manifest? I recently lost my job. At first, I was devastated. As time passed, however, I began to see how this occurrence had been needed for the new to manifest. This realization was brought home very clearly when I was speaking to a friend about a week ago. ‘I lost my job’, I said. ‘Congratulations’, she replied, ‘this means you graduated.’ I was puzzled by her response. How, I wondered, could this situation be considered a graduation? ‘You see’, she continued, ‘when you remain with something you should have left a long time ago, the Universe takes you out of it, so that you can be ready to do what you came here to do.’ I think she may be right. No, let me rephrase this, I know she is.

When you allow yourself to trust and go with your feelings, you know whether or not you’re on the path you need to be on. What happens when you aren’t feeling connected (or ‘in the groove’)? Try focusing on something which allows you to feel better and more enthusiastic. This creates a thought pattern which allows you to be open to more positive ideas.

The I-Ching says that an obstruction lasts only as long as needed. Sometimes the best lessons are the most challenging ones. Certainly, they can be the ones we learn the most from. I was reading about this tonight. In the book, ‘The Philosophy of the
I-Ching’, by Carol K. Anthony, the author discusses the reality that even negative circumstances can be necessary for self-growth. We are able to see that negative situations frequently occur simply to enable us to see a higher vision.

It is really interesting that anything can be celebrated. These can include areas of physical, spiritual, emotional and mental. A new beginning in any of these areas can considered a birthday: you are giving birth to a new habit or way of life which allows you the opportunity be a better, more complete individual. Try to pick a plan or idea which enables you to do this. The change needn’t be huge. The book ‘One Small Step Can Change Your Life (by Robert Maurer, Ph.D.) emphasizes making small, realistic steps (such as walking five minutes daily for exercise).

It is so important to be easy on ourselves. This doesn’t mean we should be undisciplined. It does, however, mean we should continue to remember we are a work in progress. This attitude allows us to experience each situation in our life as part of a growing process. This state of mind enables us to maintain an approach which encourages continued growth and positive change in our lives.
