ATTENTION TO DIFFICULTIES

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

There are times when you might be in a position where you feel pressured to act. During these times it is necessary to avoid picking a ’solution’ which seems to have ‘the answers’. The answer will be found only if you keep your attention focused away from the problem. You should just keep our mind open and unstructured and allow the answer to show itself. (This is from the I-Ching #62).

INEXPERIENCE (From the I-Ching #23)

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

When asking for help, it is important to assume you know nothing. You should also have direction, but not so structured it keeps you from being open and receptive to new ideas. Remember to proceed at your own pace, rather than imitating someone else whose values you don’t respect. By being open minded and willing to learn, you can succeed.

Doing Away With The Old (Just Being)

Monday, January 15th, 2007

During difficult times it is helpful to simply remain neutral and perservere. This new situation means some aspect of your life, which has been important, no longer serves your best interests. Going with the flow means trusting things will work out as they are meant to. The new strength acquired through surviving this difficult time guarantees new found successes. (This theory is from the I-Ching, Book of Changes, #23).

Inner Truth

Sunday, January 14th, 2007

Accumulates when we realize there is always a hidden solution to a problem at hand. If we allow ourselves to be led, the answer will appear when the time is right. We just need to let the answer appear. This is possible if we avoid focusing on the problem (this theory is from the I-Ching, Book of Changes, #62)

Creating Unity

Sunday, January 14th, 2007

A part of everyone knows when they are being true to themselves. It is a case of tuning in and listening to oneself. Meditation is a good way to do this. So is just going with your feelings. You can sense (on some level) when you aren’t behaving in a way which enables you to do this. The ‘clue’ is to tune in and change your focus or behavior the moment you sense this happening. One small step at a time allows things to go more smoothly and allows you to change things which impede this.

Trust

Saturday, January 13th, 2007

I realize this is going to work out, but I need to allow myself to stay focused and positive so that I can let it happen. If I get myself out of the way, the rest will fall into place. Amazing (and rather unsettling) how much our thoughts affect our actions and emotions. I realize that I have a lot of emotional turmoil these days, however, being aware of this and just observing this allows it to be less charged; easier to change.

Learning To Wait

Friday, January 12th, 2007

Today, as I sit at my desk, looking at a list of projects I need to get done, I am reminded about how important it is to be patient. Remember the story of the farmer who was so anxious to have his crops grow that he went out and dug them up so he could see why it was taking so long. Of course, once a plan is made, follow up is necessary. Sometimes, however, doing nothing is the only action needed. Creating a plan is sort of like birth. The seed or idea is planted, then there is a period of growth, finally the project is born. None of this can be rushed. A state of meditation or calmness is necessary between steps. This allows one to be receptive to the best action.

Letting Go

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

Is hard to do, but it is the only way to create space for the new. This idea is most effective when combined with an attitude of receptivity and openness. Remove the need to have certain things happen in a specific way. Release the necessity to have specific outcomes. Allow the phrase ‘It would be nice if…(fill in the spaces)’,  to replace the saying ‘I must have…’ The result will be far more wonderful than ever imagined.

Mindset

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

It is amazing the way ones thoughts affect how their life goes. I think this is largely due to the fact that positive thinking keeps ones mood up and enables them to deal more effectively with situations in their lives. When one’s attitude is positive, this causes them to focus more on the positive.

Positive Thinking

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

It’s amazing how one’s mindset affects all other circumstances in their lives. I allow myself to open up to positive and inspiring thoughts and ideas. This process creates the vibration necessary for them to grow. A quote I read today said that ‘When you are down to nothing, God is still up to something.’ I find this sentiment tremendously reassuring.
